Maximum Carnage – A Great Classic Spiderman Fighting Game

If you’re looking for a fun Spiderman fighting game then why don’t you try the classics? One of the best and most popular Spiderman video games ever developed was “Maximum Carnage.” This game was basically a tie-in game for a 14 part comic book crossover series released F95zone in 1993. Like the comic book series it was based on, the game features both Spiderman and the anti-hero Venom in their war against their dangerous nemesis, Carnage. It also has standard mob and boss battles, power ups and even special appearances by other Marvel characters. These features have allowed Maximum Carnage to remain quite popular among Spiderman fans even after all these years.

Is It A Good Spiderman Fighting Game?

Unlike most Spiderman games today, Maximum Carnage does not feature a lot of web-swinging, challenges, achievements or a lot of unnecessary graphic details. It has a simple 2D beat-em-up gameplay that was designed to cater to the video game market at that time, so don’t expect it to have the same features that most games have these days

What makes this game a truly great game is that it manages to combine simplicity with entertaining, button-mashing fun. For those of you not old enough to remember, most Marvel inspired video games during the nineties were all about how fast you can mash the “Y” button on your SNES controller, and Maximum Carnage was a good example of this.

Instead of the acrobatic action of many new Spiderman games, the game’s mob battles required more strategic thinking as well as expert crowd control tactics. So if you like the rather unique fast-paced action of most 90’s and early 2000’s games, Maximum Carnage can be a great Spiderman fighting game for you to try.

What’s The Rating for Maximum Carnage as a Spiderman Fighting Game?

Even after all these years, Maximum Carnage remains a very fun Spiderman game. If you have an SNES emulator on your tablet, you can play this game while on your break or when you’re riding home from work. Maximum Carnage has fairly good graphics and perhaps most important of all, it manages to be a fun game without making the controls or the game mechanics too complicated.

So a good rating for Maximum Carnage would be around 7 to 7.5 out of 10. As a classic Spiderman fighting game, it has aged quite well, and even retains a lot of fans of classic SNES games. Its only downside is that its rather linear storyline, but more than makes up for it with its high adrenaline action.
